ABOUT RODGER

Rodger received a prolific amount of awards for his art and drafting skills from grade school through University.  Helt worked in advertising art departments through high school and college, then launched his own commercial art agency upon receiving his Design degree.  Helt's illustrations and designs for national and international clients have been recreated in about any media you can name.  The amount of large clients he represented in Florida, including Walt Disney Development, brought him to live there.

In the 1980's one of Helt's posters entitled, "Peace on Earth," was marketed in Metropolitan Home and Metropolis magazines to help raise money for AIDS research and were sold world-wide. In the 90's Helt created a line of greeting cards and prints, which were sold in America, Canada and Europe.  They were recreations from the "Arcane Series" of paintings Helt did that features archetypes emerging from dramatic landscapes accompanied by his verses of interpretation.

Helt's passions, have led to his successes also, as an architectural designer.  Over the years, he has completed large-scale projects in seven states from luxury homes to commercial buildings, and has designed a French-themed residential subdivision for a large midwest developer.

Helt's travels over the years are the inspiration for his series of landscapes.  Many are field studies. Helt works in oil, acrylic, pastels, charcoal and pencil.  Fascinated by color theory,  Helt draws upon the studies of Albers and Itten for the dramatic expression of color in his paintings.  The goal of Helt's work, he says, is to "Convey and evoke emotion."
